Selection Criteria

If you meet the following criteria then you are eligible to apply for an HCI Foundation Bursary:

• you are a South African citizen, or a refugee with the right to live, study and work in South Africa
• you are under 35 years of age
• you are pursuing your first tertiary qualification, ie:
  • a first qualification at an FET College
  • a full-time undergraduate qualification at a University, University of Technology, or Comprehensive University
  • the tertiary institution at which you are aiming to study, is a public educational institution registered with the Department of Education
• your combined family gross income is below R15,000 per month

In addition, in order to be granted a bursary, you must:

• pass your current year of studies and be promoted to the next academic year
• gain admittance from the tertiary institution to pursue the qualification indicated on your bursary application
